North To South (And Apples To Apples) From Atop 2041 Sacramento

An overlook of Lafayette Park to the north from the living room is a rather nice feature. The south facing private roof deck overlooking Cathedral Hill is as well.

Purchased for $2,286,500 in June of 2007, the top floor condo with two car parking at 2041 Sacramento is listed for $2,095,000 today. A sale at asking would represent an 8.4% drop in value over the past two years for this remodeled Pacific Heights condo home.
∙ Listing: 2041 Sacramento #Top (3/3) - $2,095,000 [MLS]

Beautiful place, with a Tainted View.
Too bad that Ugly Circular Tower on Gough St is right in the MIDDLE of the view from the Balcony.
Who came up with that design anyway ? Were they going for a Tower of Pisa look and waiting for the 'quakes to lean it over ?

Don't forget the view of that church too... It always looked like the inside of a washing machine to me, so I refer to it as the "Church of Maytag".

For this price, you can have 2/3 of the Bourn Mansion. Much better.

"Rare offering!"
It's been off the market for two years.

The view of the church is much better from the south. Here's why: http://sfist.com/2008/03/26/the_two_oclock.php

The Cathederal was built when I was a little kid and I remember Catholic friends of my parents all calling it "McGucken's Maytag" since it was Archbishop McGucken the gave the final OK to the design.

I predict makes a round trip back to Nov 2000 price of $1.7M

This is a nice home with north/south views light. The problem here is that you can get a nice single family home for $2M in PH. I'm surprised the condo market in PH is holding as well as it is.

It's been known as "Our Lady of Maytag" for decades, and it's one of the more interesting buildings in SF.
The condo, on the other hand, comes off as quite Mormon.

I've always referred to it as "St. Mary Maytag"

The 2 o'clock titty is fabulous. The ever-so-much-more Catholic nickname for the Cathedral is "Our Lady of Perpetual Agitation."

The view is fine.... Matag & all. the unit itself seems a bit pedestrian for 2m. For me, and I'm a little biased, the stager failed miserably by using everything from SITCOM Furniture. Let's mix it up a little people. Am I the only designer who is totally sick of all these Mimi London knock offs?

Very late follow up to @fancy rental...
They are out there and when they come up they go very fast. Get a good realtor, get pre-qualified and be prepared to move fast. Personally, I'd email sleepiguy if I was seriously looking. that's one plugged in guy despite being so sleepy!

Here is something up the road that will be hitting the auction block October 21. The home at 2679 Sacramento (3/1 1438 sq.ft.) has an unpaid balance of $1,318,455 (courtesy of WaMu); it was bought for $927k in March of 2002. It appears that the homeowners had, at one point, trouble getting back the $10k security deposit of a former tenant. They also appeared to be experiencing some financial distress as evidenced by this judgement in favor of of their credit union for $28k on a VISA card. Looks like they had to sell off another property, 2967 Pine, last year for $1.55million, which they had bought for $1.51million in 2006. Don't worry, though -- I'm sure owning multiple $1million+ properties in Ess Eff isn't a common occurence...

Nice research. FYI, 2679 failed to sell last year for $1.5. MLS had it listed as 1800 sqft
