Not Overheard Everyday: Don’t Hit Your Head On The Fireplace

1420 Douglass: Dining/Living Room

It’s the central staircase and fireplace designs that caught our attention. And perhaps it’s also interesting to note that it last changed hands on 2/24/2006 (for what we’re assuming was a pre-remodel price of $1,300,000).

The link requires you to register at Zip. Has it come to this?

[Editor’s Note: Honestly, we just haven’t been able to find a link to the listing anywhere else (and we've tried all our usual tricks). Readers?]

All this work and only $300,000 more?

The bathrooms look like stock Waterworks photos. But still, love them anyway. I could do without the opening line of the listing -- "tall, dark and handsome." Puke.

When did architects forget that fireplaces are dirty and may spew embers?

This house is the best to come along in a while! It looks original, put together and handsome, as described. Only those who haven't been called handsome would say "puke", but then they aren't handsome, so who cares about them. Waterworks, I don't think so, looks more like Ann Sacks and the fireplace...could be gas....no embers... How about some positive feedback. This one looks like it deserves it! Can't wait to see it at the open house.
