Designed by architect Strachan Forgan and built for himself in 2007, the 1,850-square-foot Glen Park home at 1223 Bosworth Street was featured on the American Institute of Architects (AIA) tour of homes back in 2009.

While the modern home – which is outfitted with a double height living room, a high-end kitchen and adjacent deck, two master suites, a finished two-car garage with a temperature controlled wine cellar and modern features throughout – didn’t sell after being put on the market with a $1.479 million price tag following its tour in 2009, it did sell for $2.1 million, or roughly $1,135 per square foot, in April of 2014.

And having been listed for “$1,995,000” for two weeks ago, the “modern masterpiece” is now in contract. And yes, we’re expecting a solidly “over asking!” sale.

  1. Anyone else thinks that the facade is slightly fugly? As in too many colors and materials. Interior’s cool though.

    1. Yes facade is too busy. Overall it is a very nice design though for a tricky site. I like the interior layout. The location is convenient to Glen Park and Glen Canyon, but it is right on top of a super busy road. Also, that area is sort of in a canyon so perpetually shaded.

  2. Given that non-master bedroom has no closets, the laundry could be more efficiently designed. Throw in a LG Washer/Dryer combo and then remodel the Laundry Room into a closet.

I’ve lived in a place where the laundry is next to the closet, and let’s just say that there’s nothing like taking laundry out of the dryer and hanging it without moving your feet.

    1. Yeah. For $2M I’d really like to have a closet in the second bedroom. 2BD in 1900 sq ft. Tiny back deck area with minimal natural light and privacy. On a busy, shady street. Wow.

      1. I’d also like not to hit the bathroom doors on the toilets. In the half-bath on the 2nd floor it looks like you have to squeeze against the wall in order to shut the door
