Diana Dollar Hickingbotham Knowles, a San Francisco arts patron, early supporter of the League to Save Lake Tahoe, and the granddaughter of Captain Robert Dollar who founded the Dollar Steamship Line passed away this past March at the age of 95.

While it’s not yet officially listed nor inventory, Mrs. Knowles former five-bedroom Presidio Heights home at 3725 Washington Street is on the market for $11,000,000, ready for a new heir or titan of tech to make their own.

The sale of Mrs. Knowles two-acre Lake Tahoe estate which was listed for $9,495,000 is pending.

  1. This house hasn’t been for sale. It has been on Nina’s site a couple of months though. It’s kind of an odd house. The interior and previous renovation were done by Michael Taylor and I don’t think one piece of furniture has been moved in 30 years or so.
The one thing I don’t care for is the covered atrium. I think the side garden was covered over and opened up into the main house. It come across as a little mausoleum-y. Otherwise… Great house, great block. With the huge sales on Jackson St just below, there’s no reason this can’t get asking.
