1170 Sacramento #19B View
Quietly delisted from the MLS last week, tongues are wagging, and lips are being licked, with respect to Penthouse B atop 1170 Sacramento Street. And yes, it’s in contract.
According to our sources, the sale of 1170 Sacramento #19B should close at $6 million and set a new all-time residential record in San Francisco at over $3,000 per square foot.
The buyer hasn’t been revealed. And while the sale hasn’t yet closed, don’t forget those invitations to the housewarming. Cheers.

  1. I know for a fact there were a few people considering an offer at or near asking. I think with some competition this could have gone over.

  2. It’s an important reminder to a curmudgeon like me who likes industrial carpeting, IKEA, and basic white that people will really pay up for the same place with lots of lipstick. Like the photo spreads, stars without makeup vs. stars with makeup.

  3. No doubt the new owner is the same First Republic Bank exec that swooped up PH A and C. Both within the last year. Now he can build out a full floor penthouse mecca. Who else would have paid the over-the-top asking price? Only someone that had to have it.

That makes sense since over the years I’ve known of many SF famlies that sell the house in Pacific Heights or Presidio Heights and move to an apartment (like 2000 & 2006 Washington) once the kids are out of college. I wouldn’t be surprised if Malin (or another top agent) ends up with a nice view listing on Vallejo in a year or so…
I don’t know the family well, but 10 years ago I ended up at a Christmas sing along party at the Vallejo house and didn’t spend much time singing in the front room with the piano since the view at the back of the home was just amazing (they also had the bar in the back room)…

  5. Nevermind, I’m blind. 🙂 FAB = FormerAptBroker He has the house but not the agent. 🙂 I’m curious to see if they get the price. Seems high.
