Executive Park Aerial

Approved by the Planning Commission, the plan to raze and redevelop the central office components of the 70-acre site adjacent to Candlestick Point with 1,600 housing units and 70,000 square feet of retail with buildings rising up to 240 feet tall is back in front of San Francisco’s Land Use and Economic Development Committee this afternoon to vote on the amendments to make it so.

With the development currently dubbed “Executive Park,” as a plugged-in tipster writes: “Since the project will become mixed use, it could use a new name.” That it could. And we know just who to ask.  Readers?

  2. This project should NOT be built without an extension of the T so residents can at least connect to the Bayshore Caltrain station without driving to it.
    Name suggestion: Candle Stick Point

  3. “so residents can at least connect to the Bayshore Caltrain station without driving to it.”
    Isn’t Caltrain closing that station?

  5. @SFRen There are no plans to close any Caltrain stations for this FY. That said, the Bayview Station’s schedule is fairly terrible (no bullet, only local and a couple express), but it does have parking.

  6. Executive Park is fine. BTW it is interesting to know that the readers of this blog are a bunch of ignoramuses. Have you even been out to this neighborhood???? There are some of the most beautiful views anywhere in the bay area. The neighborhood is extremely quiet and safe. Or are you simply going on your prejudices which is typical of the sf “elite”?

  7. John. I’m with you. It wouldn’t surprise me if all these posts were written by the same jerk–just under different names.

  8. Actually, this is the most beautiful part of Bayview, if it can even be considered Bayview. Yes, it is right at the edge of SF, but so are other parts of the city. I own a restored 1906 bungalow on Jamestown Ave, right up the street. With all of the change going on, I am holding on to it in the hopes that the price will go up, even if just slightly.

  9. @sfrenegade – the Caltrain schedule for FY2012 was agreed upon about a month ago and includes no closings or changes. Could close next year though, and will be very risky until Caltrain can get some dedicated funding a la BART, Muni, SamTrans, etc. Going to the counties each year for funding is a recipe for disaster.
