March Madness For 5950 Margarido (Coincidence?)
While we typically wait until a property has closed escrow, or at the very least until all contingencies have been waived, a plugged-in tipster notes that 5950 Margarido just went into contract. And we never get tired of looking at that house (click image to enlarge).
Keep in mind the asking price was reduced from $5,500,000 to $4,795,000 last month. And note our reference to March Madness in our October headline. Coincidence? (Yes.)
Now about those margaritas...

Perhaps Mitch Kapor took my advice and bought this place instead dealing with appeals in Berkeley...

Here's what the Margarido micromarket is looking like these days. A couple of doors down (and weighing in at 500 sq.ft less), 5964 Margarido is listed at $1.8 million. Across the street, 6001 Margarido (financing courtesy of Countrywide) continues to teeter on the brink of foreclosure. And two houses over from that, 6025 Margarido (6/5 3,500 sq.ft.) registered a NOTS on March 17. What's that about buying the best house on the block?
