This One Goes Out To All The Babies' Mamas...

3712 Jackson: Foyer

It’s a classic Tudor facade with a Wiseman Group designed interior and the Presidio in the backyard. And some incredible art as well. Not a bad way to start the weekend.

∙ Listing: 3712 Jackson (6/5) - $7,995,000 [SF Properties] [MLS]

Damn, Pokie!

Is that a bona fide Giacometti at the foot of the landing?!

That's a whole lot more impressive than the virtual Rothko in the foreground of the fabricated fauxto for 465 Hoffman (where my 20-something was on the phone to his creditors).

May have also seen a Calder and a Kandinsky (?!) in the photos.....

This house is great and the art is fantastic! It's a great location for a family. The only thing is... no view. But worth every penny! They selected one of the best, if not the best relator in SF!!!!

WOW! Not crazy about every room, but this place overall looks pretty amazing and the location goes w/o saying. Although it doesn't have a classic "view" I'll take a view of all that green in the Presidio any day.

This place looks great (not a big surprise considering that the owners are big are and antique collectors).

Does anyone have the ability to look up what they bought the home for back in 2000?

3222 Jackson remains my current favorite Malin offering, but this is very lovely indeed.

Jake, I think it says if you crane your head and look out the pent room window, you can see the bridge. With everything else the house has going for it, that would be good enough for me. :-)

That was funny -- I read the headline as

"This one goes out to all the Baby Mamas"

Paid about 6M based on their tax liability for 2009.

Based on the cans in the ceilings, the built in TV, and the state of the kitchen, they probably ripped everything out and started over when they got there, so maybe add at least $1M in remodeling costs.

So they are into it for at least $7M and asking about $8M. 4700 square feet.

Hard to tell from the photo, but the proportions don't look like a real Giacometti to me - especially in the face. I'm looking for a close-up.

Great art and a real estate open house?

Bad idea. Baaaaad idea.

Jus7Tme no it does read goes out to all the babies' mamas.. I have a feeling the editor is trying to be funny perhaps connecting the song Sorry miss Jackson with Jackson street so it should be as typed but baby's vs. babies'.
"Yeah this one right here goes out to all the baby's mamas, mamas..."
I found it funny... if in fact this was the intent.

This house is only a few down from my parents house. It is stunning, and they did an amazing job with the remodel. It is the most amazing spot. This house is priced so right.

it does not look like any giacometti i have seen.

if you take out all the art -- including the murals, and the ffe, and rememebr it no view, it comes down to earth.

it is a lot better thasn other listings in the range recently -- i.e. sea cliffs -- but i dont think it can make an 8 mil sale. 7? 6?

fact were having this discussion is marker of how far vakues have dropped since 2006 b/c i think this would have been listed / bid up to 9-10 if in this condition.

the art is worth more than the house....a nice position to be in.

Am I wrong or are there works by Andrew Goldsworthy and Mark Tobey as well? I want a tour!

If people with this wealth put cans and more cans in the ceilings, what does this tell us about interior fashion in the early 21st century?

Who are the sellers?

Posted by: Conifer at May 11, 2009 10:39 AM

By the looks of the art and the location (Presidio Heights) I will venture a guess that this is one of the Fisher heirs...

Will Don or Doris verify this please???

He's my nephew - and I'm cutting off the little SOB for not supporting my CAMP project.

I believe the red painting with yellow text is a Richard Prince.
