San Francisco Idea House Update: Open Into January And A Reduction

1303 Alabama: Master Bath

As a plugged-in reader noted last week, Sunset’s San Francisco Idea House webpage has been updated to read:

The San Francisco Idea House will be open from 11/30/2007 through 1/27/2008 Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 9am-4pm. PLEASE NOTE THE HOUSE WILL BE CLOSED THE WEEKEND OF 12/21 and 12/28 due to the holidays. After the holidays we will resume our open schedule the weekend of 1/4/2008.

And if you were interested in 1303 Alabama but didn't think it was worth more than a million, we’ll note that it was just reduced $94,000 (or 8.6%) and is now listed (along with some new interior photos) at $995,000.

Looks like the kitchen counter tops are Vertrazzo. Cool stuff.

Ugh! What is up with all the mosaic tiles lately?! Hate 'em! They make me feel claustrophobic and dizzy.

The house is kinda funky ... I really like it overall EXCEPT for the mosaic tiles! Please ... no more!

Given the quality of materials, seems reasonably priced. Nice outdoor space. I like the statement the blue cabinets make in the kitchen but wonder if you would tire of it.

Is that a control panel for the shower on the green-tiled master bath surround wall...? Sweet, no manual valve controls! Though, that said, I have real doubts whether or not I could face that colour with a hangover.

I'm a fan of a lot of the design and wowee features of these properties. But they overspent for the neighborhood by, oh , I don't know, a million dollars or so. They should have built these in the Panhandle.
