Our apologies to anyone who had difficulty “plugging in” yesterday (which actually included ourselves). In terms of the reason why? Well, let’s just say it’s the kind of problem you like to have.

  1. Someone enjoys seeing themselves huh! Thanks for putting a picture of yourself on your own blog – way to self promote. What’s next – Socketsite Tee shirts with your picture on them!
[Editor’s Note: Tough crowd (and to be honest, we’d expect nothing less). Now about those t-shirts…]

  2. I’m actually stunned the Chron wrote a pretty balanced article instead of simply interviewing a couple of realtors who repeat that the market is HOT.

  3. NIIIICE! I’ve been reading this blog for years and it’s nice to see it getting the press it deserves.
Looks like Adam is standing on Berry Street. That empty lot behind him was bought by Avalon.

  4. “Looks like Adam is standing on Berry Street. That empty lot behind him was bought by Avalon.”
And any moment now, that empty lot will become a world class city!

  5. Having been ‘plugged in’ for about 8 months now I found some bits of info in the article to be quite interesting; or maybe im just reading into it too far– but hey, its fun to start gossip.
The setting of the photograph is definitely interesting and we learned that Socketsite is looking at condos in the area. I am wondering if the lucky project is Arterra given the photo setting and certain postings in the past few weeks.
Also, after reading the article I almost felt like I had read a few posts from ‘tipster’ . . . Does anyone think Socketsite is pulling a ‘Mackey’?
[Editor’s Note: Yes (In terms of reading too much into it) and no (in terms of pulling a ‘Mackey’). Regardless, we do like the way you think. And as always, thanks for plugging in.]

Are we reading the same Chronicle? The Chronicle I know interviews a couple of renters who repeat that realtors are bad. (And that’s being generous.)

  7. I’m one of the noobs, too. I was looking for a site like this for ages, and I’m glad I caught the article on sfgate. I’m in the A/E field, but I’m far from being plugged-in to what all the new development going on is. Thanks for being a great resource (on the residential end of things) on design and development in SF, and of course the great perspective on real estate.

  8. “[Editor’s Note: Tough crowd (and to be honest, we’d expect nothing less). Now about those t-shirts…]”
Adam you’ve got the thick skin, sense of humor, and balanced perspective that it probably takes to succeed at what you are trying to accomplish. Thanks for keeping it real . . . .

  9. From the article:
“Anytime we talk about (commission) prices, we get hammered,” said Dona Crowder, the San Francisco director of the California Association of Realtors. “A lot of people don’t understand what we do. … Just like lawyers don’t like shark jokes, real estate agents don’t like jokes about us.”
Lighten up Dona … don’t take yourself so seriously.
Fortunately, I know realtors and attorneys that CAN and DO take jokes about themselves.
Try it, Dona, it can be fun.

  10. Most realtors do not say the market is hot. Realtors like me, believe that a seller’s disadvantage in selling in 2007 is a buyer’s opportunity in 2007. By the way, photoshop doctoring is unethical in representing a property. I would encourage anyone who is “misled” to report the broker/agent to their board/association. It mystifies me why a seller would want the prperty misrepresented to the point of lawsuit.
