A couple of general “open house” observations:
1. We can’t help but notice the marked return of the Saturday open house (currently 86 scheduled for this weekend in San Francisco); 2. The frenetic pace has slowed (fewer people sprinting through open houses, barely noticing the lack of an actual kitchen (hell, they’ll just put a microwave in the closet), and leaving the car double parked (and running) out front); 3. Agents are actively selling (rather than simply parroting the date they’ll be reviewing offers); and 4. We agree with Curbed, it’s easier to search for (listed) open houses on Movoto.

“…and leaving the car double parked…”
This is the most appalling part of real estate porn. It is completely unacceptable for agents and their clients to flash mob a block and clog up the entire street and every single driveway. The arrogance and thoughtlessness of this practice is the very definition of asshole. It is never OK, even if it’s “just for a minute!” My fantasy is to see Bigfoot (yes, the monster truck) roar down the street and crush every single illegally parked Lexus, MBZ and BMW in its path.
Elizabeth – while we have to admit that we’re not completely free of sin, we’re firmly in your corner on this one. Bring on Bigfoot! (Or perhaps Robosaurus…)
