Fieldhaven Estate

Built for Dave Duffield, the co-founder of PeopleSoft (which was acquired by Oracle in 2005) and Workday, the 22-acre Fieldhaven estate at 7 Country Oak Lane in Alamo is now on the market with a $39 million price tag.

The East Bay property features “stonework imported from Europe, an aviary, its own woodlands and [a] 20,647 square foot master home completed three years ago by Remick Associates Architects + Master Builders.”

There’s an old-school wine cellar, an outdoor kitchen by the pool, and a 14-seat cinema “painted by world-renown artists Evans & Brown.”

In addition to the main home, there’s a detached 1,115 square-foot two-bedroom guest house and a 1,404 square-foot one-bedroom above the car barn.

  1. Was this his personal property or a spec project? He’s been building spec homes in the bay area and redeveloping / flipping others quite successfully. FWIW, I have no issues with this place and tax shelter or not, $39mm (or whatever this will sell for) isn’t chump change in terms of a donated cause.

Does anyone have the official listing site? More pics at the business times linked in the main story above.

  2. It’s certainly an odd choice, but the craftsmanship and design are quite good, at least from the pictures. It looks right. Belongs in a forest in Europe.
